Honestly, I would say that I'm a self taught artist.
I received a BFA from the University of Michigan, but did not attend a formal art program. As a classically trained dancer, I attended the University's dance program where I continued my dance training and the study of the very engaging and ephemeral art of choreography.
I continue to teach and choreograph, but have a strong desire to create art that is more permanent and a reflection of what I find beautiful. I'm certain it has something to do with the long line of creative women who came before me. My family lived in New Orleans and was filled with incredibly gifted women who loved to knit, crochet, sew, cook, garden and craft (cocktails) and they loved nothing more than passing their gifts along.
I currently live in Ann Arbor, Michigan with my husband Marc, daughter Olivia and two very hungry cats.
